Building surveys and damage assessments for properties throughout the Canary Islands
My services include private surveys as well as arbitration and court assessments, and cover:
- Professional preservation of evidence of construction defects
- Estimation of the costs for the repair of construction defects
- Inventory
- Assessment of construction quality and execution
for properties on all Canary Islands (Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro, and La Graciosa).
As an architect and member of the Gran Canaria Chamber of Architects, I am accredited as a building expert by all Spanish courts and the Spanish tax authorities. I can prepare the expert opinion for you in either English or Spanish.
Since the wheels of justice turn very slowly, especially in Spain, an out-of-court settlement is often faster, cheaper, and more effective than fighting for a court ruling. For this reason, in addition to the damage reports, I offer troubleshooting to resolve the conflict. This involves identifying and evaluating errors, determining responsibilities, and developing fair solutions.
